On behalf of the International Society for Frontotemporal Dementia (ISFTD), we are reaching out with an invitation to collaborate in an important listening exercise as we define ISFTD’s strategic priorities for the coming years.
ISFTD serves as a global, multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing research, clinical care, education, and collaboration in frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and related disorders. As the field continues to evolve and as the overlap between FTD, ALS/MND, atypical Alzheimer’s disease, movement disorders, and language-led neurodegenerative syndromes becomes increasingly clear, we believe it is essential to ensure that our strategy reflects the needs and perspectives of the broader community.
We have therefore developed a short survey aimed at gathering input on the scientific and clinical challenges in FTD and related conditions, gaps in education, training, and collaboration, and opportunities for ISFTD to add value through partnerships, standards, and initiatives.
A variation of this survey has already been distributed to ISFTD members, but we are eager to also hear from clinicians, researchers, and professionals within aligned communities who may not formally identify as “FTD specialists,” but whose work intersects closely with FTD biology, diagnosis, care, and lived experience.
We would be very grateful if you would consider circulating this survey to members of your organization or network who may have an interest in FTD or related disorders. Their perspectives will directly inform ISFTD’s strategic planning and help us identify meaningful opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and organizations. The survey is brief and anonymous, and participation is entirely voluntary of course. We will share a high-level summary of insights with participating organizations once the survey closes and the analysis is complete.
